Another picture heavy post. Just sayin'
Alan and Aoife had this dream that we'd get to the beach one day while we were away. But, you know, it's Ireland...
It rains in Ireland. A lot.
So they watched the weather forecast closely and pinned all their hopes on this ONE day no rain was forecast. The best beach was chosen, the scenic route mapped out, good restaurants and sights of interest noted. It was a very serious affair indeed.
Until the morning in question when all hopes for a trip to the beach were crushed.
It may not have been raining, but it sure wasn't pleasant.
So we decided to go for a picnic lunch at the Japanese Gardens in Kildare instead. They were kind of on my wish list of things to do anyway since we haven't been there since the year we got married.
It's such a beautiful place...
So lush and beautiful! I love it!
We also popped in to The National Stud, which is connected to the Japanese Gardens, but didn't stay very long.
Can you tell I don't care much for horses?
I also wanted to see St Fiachra's Garden, which had not yet been opened when Alan and I were there last, but by that stage my back was killing me and the little ones were starting to melt down so a hasty retreat to the ice-cream cart by the car park was in order. Maybe next time.
